Pinawa Youth in Philanthropy Group (YIP) at the Pinawa High School, recently announced their awards for 2021. “We received some excellent proposals this year from local groups” said Lisa Krupka, the group’s mentor from the Pinawa Foundation. “I would like to thank all of the students that participated in YIP this year, along with Carol Findlay from the Foundation’s board”. The grants given this year include:
Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre: Reaching Out Promotional Materials – $300
Pinawa Ironwood Investments: Community Gardens – $200
Pinawa Art Gallery, Art 211: Teen Mud Pit – $500
Two Rivers Seniors Resource Council: Shirley’s Kitchen – $300
Orville Acres Arena: Arena LED Lighting Upgrade –$300
F W Gilbert School Junior Kindergarten Program: Garden Classroom – $300
Children’s Place Daycare: Play Area Upgrades – $600
The Pinawa Foundation, in Partnership with the Thomas Sills Foundation, provide funds to YIP for students to learn about giving to your community and to award to worthy local projects.
