The Trans Canada Trail (TCT) Committee has been awarded the Greener Tomorrow Grant of $5,146 from Solo Market for trail maintenance. Our Pinawa TCT is 28 km long, stretching from the Seven Sisters Generating Station to the Old Pinawa Dam Provincial Park.  The trail follows along Natalie Lake to the “service road” of the Seven Sisters levee, through ash forest and peaty swamp land to Pinawa, along the Winnipeg River on the Ironwood Trail, and then on across the Diversion Dam into boreal forest and granite outcrops. From the Pinawa Suspension Bridge, it heads North across three more smaller bridges along the Pinawa Channel to Old Pinawa.  The plan for 2022 is to upgrade the Winter Walking Trail on the North Channel route. Pinawa Foundation is pleased to have brought Solo’s generosity and concern for our environment together with the Trans Canada Trail to help them with their on-going trail maintenance.
