Pinawa Foundation Supports Community with Purchase of Equipment to Measure Blood Flow

The Pinawa Foundation is proud to provide a $1,750 grant to the Interlake Eastman Regional Health Authority (IERHA) to help purchase an Arterial Doppler Detector and equipment for Ankle brachial index testing and toe pressures. This test relies on the use of blood pressure cuffs (like the one used to take your arm blood pressure). It compares the blood pressure measured at your ankle or great toe with the blood pressure measured at your arm. It measures the arterial flow in the lower limbs by using a doppler and helps diagnose Peripheral Arterial Disease or PAD. This equipment will be used locally in our Eastern Region.

Jamie McLean, a Chronic Disease Nurse at the Lac Du Bonnet Health Centre, accepts the donation for the IERHA.
