For the third year, the Board of Directors of the Pinawa Foundation has chosen to present our annual report through this post, rather than our usual lunchtime gathering. We are sorry that we can not answer your questions in person or have you join us to present funds to the various groups that participated in community project month. All of these presentations will be highlighted over the next few weeks on our Facebook page.
The Foundation had another busy year as we move into the recovery phase from the covid pandemic. Over the years, we have distributed over $735,000 to support numerous local projects, including about $140,000 in 2021 alone. Much of this funding came from our endowment fund, now over $1.4 Million, allowing us to continue to support the community for years to come. The past year also saw us secure a grant for $48,400 from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to help refurbish the Burrows Playground. We also received our largest estate donation ever.
“The Foundation would again like to thank the CFC, the LGD of Pinawa, and Employment and Social Development Canada for all of their assistance” said Chris Saunders, Chairman of the Foundation.
The attached presentation and annual report describe our activities and our plans. We have approved both the 2021 financial statement . Finally, the Board of Directors would like to welcome Janice Swanson and Kristen Ticknor to the board. We look forward to working with you over the next year. The 2022 Board Members include:
Chris Saunders – Chairman
