Christmas Tree

The Pinawa Foundation gave the LGD of Pinawa a Colorado Blue Spruce in July It is a 6 foot tree planted in front of the LGD parking lot. It has a ways to grow (hmm just like the Foundation) but it will be there year after year for decorating.

Pinawa Foundation to Publish Book on History of Whiteshell Laboratories

On behalf of the Whiteshell History Committee, the Pinawa Foundation is proud to announce our plans to publish our first book entitled “Whiteshell Laboratories – A Legacy to Nuclear Science and Engineering in Canada”.
It is important for the Foundation to play a role in documenting the history of the region and the lives of our residents. Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and Whiteshell Laboratories has been an important part of Pinawa for over 50 years. This book was written by the Whiteshell History Committee, made up of retired and current staff.
The Pinawa Foundation would like everyone to have the opportunity to review the book and suggest changes or additions to the story. Please remember that the History Committee tried to illustrate the depth and breadth of the accomplishments that made Whiteshell Laboratories an important part of the Canada’s nuclear family. They made specific choices; the story is about the people of Whiteshell (numerous photographs); detailed scientific descriptions have not been included; research programs were described in only general terms.
Preview “Whiteshell Laboratories – A Legacy to Nuclear Science and Engineering in Canada” online.
We hope you enjoy this walk through 50 years of Whiteshell history. If you have comments, edits, or additions you think will add to the story, please feel free to send them the Chris Saunders at saunders@acsion.com.

Pinawa Christmas Hamper Campaign 2016

Donations for the Christmas Hampers may be made to the
Pinawa Foundation
Box 100 Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0
Tax Receipts will be issued for donations over $25.00
In 2016 the community gifted the Hamper committee with $6000. Word is out that the Hamper elves have started shopping so it is time to think about Christmas 2016.
If you have considered making a contribution but have not done so there is no time like the present to make a gift that gives repeatedly into the future.
