The Pinawa Foundation held a presentation ceremony on June 16 for the high school students from the Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Program to present grants to groups in Pinawa. Lisa Krupka, the Foundation’s YIP Coordinator, hosted the ceremony. “This was an excellent YIP year. We had the most grant requests ever and it was a challenge for the students to evaluate all of them and decide which projects should receive funding,” said Ms. Krupka. “Nine projects were funded this year and I would like to thank the YIP students for all of their efforts in the program this year.”
The Pinawa Foundation provides $2,500 each year for the YIP program. The students collect applications for grants for local community groups. They evaluate the applications and decide how best to grant the funds each year. For more information, please see the attached article.
