The Pinawa Foundation is sad to announce that our long-time Treasurer, Carol Findlay, has decided to retire from the Board of Directors. Carol’s last day on our Board was December 31. Over the past 16 years, Carol has been a key part of our organization, leading numerous initiatives, including our Community Projects Month in May, the Giving Challenge in November, and the Christmas Hamper Campaign. As treasurer, Carol has managed all our finances and worked closely with the Winnipeg Foundation, Endow Manitoba and all levels of government as we have progressed from a new foundation to an important part of the Manitoba community foundation network.
The entire community owes Carol a huge thank you for everything she has done for the Foundation. With her guidance and leadership, we have been able to donate over $1.4 Million to various groups in Pinawa. We have also established an endowment fund of over $2 Million to guarantee that financial support for local groups will be available for as long as the Pinawa exists. Thank you, Carol, for everything.
